When I was a young girl at Thanksgiving, I would anxiously sit in the car asking my Mother and Father “Are we there yet?” Although they thought it endearing that I couldn’t wait to see my Grandma Alice (which was true) it was really the tin of toffee she had made from scratch that I looked forward to all year. She never let me down, I would run to her door and she would already have the tin open. My Grandma Alice has since passed away and her recipe has been passed down to me. Every batch is stirred with a blessing of peace for all who eat it.
